Bariatric Surgery chaffle recipe

Yields:

2 servings

Ready In:

15 minutes

Nutritional facts per chaffle:

175 calories

14 g protein

12 g fat

2 g carbs

4 g fiber

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup (80 g) shredded mozzarella
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp psyllium husk powder
  • 6 pickle slices

Psyllium husk powder adds more fiber to your chaffle. And it adds a more solid texture too. Make sure to focus on your fluids intake even more so, if you’re adding more fiber to your diet.

Substitute the mozzarella cheese for any other type of cheese. Alter the seasoning to your liking!

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Preheat your waffle maker and lightly grease it.

Step 2

In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded mozzarella, egg, and psyllium husk powder. Mix well until all the ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Step 3

Allow the mixture to sit for a few minutes to let the psyllium husk powder bind the ingredients together.

STEP 4

Spoon half of the mixture onto the preheated waffle maker, spreading it evenly to create a round shape.

Step 5

Place three pickle slices on top of the mixture, spacing them out evenly. Close the waffle maker again, until ready. About 2 minutes.

Step 6

Remove chaffle from waffle maker. And repeat the process with the remaining batter and pickles. Enjoy!
